5 Easy Ways To Motivate Yourself To Workout

After all, there is no better feeling than crushing a workout before sunrise. The magic of the quiet morning hour is really an ideal start to a new day. AM workouts provide all the energy you need to tackle your day, and it certainly feels great when you're done.

But here’s the thing. Before you leave your home or even before you slip into your gym clothes - exercise is often the last thing on your mind.

On those dark and early mornings, we all need that extra motivation to get us moving. So, Gold’s Gym Calgary is here to help you with these 5 easy tips so you can get yourself out of the door in 2023.

1. Find Your Purpose

Regardless of your interest in exercise, you need a reason that’s bigger than the exercise itself. You need something that gives you a little lift every time you get off the couch and step into your workout gear.

Whether you're looking for a way to balance out the stress of everyday life, improve your health or maybe you're looking to be more confident. Whatever it is, make sure it's bigger than the exercise itself! Find that inner purpose.

2. Be Organized

These days, with our pace, it’s not so easy finding time and space for exercise.

If you want to start getting fit, you need to find ways to fit it in and that starts with planning ahead. So, pack that gym bag the night before, create a killer playlist and schedule that spin class few days in advance.

3. Set small goals

Finding a healthy middle ground is all that matters when starting out on your fitness journey. You don’t have to exercise every day to optimally impact your health. Just 30 to 40 minutes three to four times a week is enough.

4. Do what is best for you

Just because you hate lifting weights, doesn’t mean you won’t like another kind of workout. Maybe a yoga class with Vanessa at our Country Hills location will make you feel totally zen - while also causing you to break a sweat.

Let your mind run free until you find something that doesn’t make you want to throw your sneakers in the dumpster.

5. Get some support

No matter what fitness level you're at, a personal trainer can help. They can provide support and motivation when you're struggling and can help you stay on track when you feel like you're ready to give up.
