From increasing flexibility and building strength to calming the mind and improving sleep, the benefits of yoga are endless.
Here are four simple yoga poses that can help you achieve a sense of calm and alleviate stress:
Easy Pose (Sukhasana)
A cross-legged sitting posture promoting relaxation, focus, and concentration. It stretches and opens the hips, strengthens the back, and improves posture. It also stimulates energy flow, reduces stress, aids digestion, and cultivates mindfulness.
Cobra (Bhujangasana)
Cobra Pose involves lying on your stomach and lifting your upper body while keeping your legs and pelvis grounded, helping you strengthen the back muscles, especially the spine and lower back. This pose stretches the chest, shoulders, and abdomen, promoting flexibility in these areas. As well as, stimulating the digestive organs, enhances circulation, and can provide relief from stress and fatigue.
Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana)
This pose stretches the entire posterior chain of the body, including the hamstrings, back muscles, and spine. It stimulates the digestive organs, improves digestion, and helps relieve constipation. Regular practice can increase flexibility in the legs and spine and improve posture.
Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Shvanasana)
Adho Mukha Shvanasana involves forming an inverted V shape with your body, pressing your hands and feet into the ground while lifting your hips towards the ceiling. This pose stretches and strengthens multiple muscle groups simultaneously, including the arms, shoulders, hamstrings, calves, and arches of the feet.
Remember to listen to your body and modify any pose if needed. It's always a good idea to consult with our Gold's qualified yoga instructors before starting a new yoga practice, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or concerns.
